10 prime elements to Outpace your Competitors

Updated: Oct 30, 2023

Often, they speak about outpacing competitors. I prefer the term outfoxing competitors. The difference is the manner you achieve the leader’s position. Outpacing often cost quite some investment. Outfoxing, on the other hand, are smart, little campaigns, which, can be done with modest budgets and give the best ROI.

In traditional marketing we learned that you can outpace competitors through the 5Ps; Product, Price, Promotion, Place, and People. Still relevant in 2020? Surely. But it’s not enough. People have changed, technology and markets too. Solely relying on the traditional marketing strategies is .. suicide.

The biggest problem with the traditional marketing method is that it is so superficial, vague and rarely effective. It’s costly too and therefore outside the budget of most SMEs. Therefore many SME resign from investing in smart marketing campaigns. Instead, they mainly focus on price. And that’s not smart either. It has been researched and the general conclusion is that most companies lose out a lot more business than should they invest in digital marketing.

Conclusion; for SME, it’s about developing smart campaigns, exploiting cross and up-selling possibilities with your existing customers and deploying guerrilla digital marketing tactics. It’s about return on investment, getting good at obtaining results with modest budgets.

Fortunately, there are many opportunities through the digital marketing that can be done with modest budgets. But it takes time, knowledge and experience.

Here are my 10 main focus elements (not limited) I deploy to outfox competitors. Do you agree? Love to get your feedback on this.
